Specializing in science, technology,
medicine and health care, clients have included hospitals, a cancer
network, veterinarians, physicians, a credit union and others. In
addition, Lorraine Communications has provided assistance to a chamber
of commerce, a civic center and a congregation of Catholic sisters
and a church. Lorraine’s mini marketing plans geared to small
businesses have assisted many a diverse entrepreneur succeed at
his or her life’s dream or turnaround a marketing obstacle.
During her tenure at St. Mary’s
Health Care System, Athens, Ga., she produced national award winning
publications and campaigns and was part of the executive team that
turned around a state decision that had excluded St. Mary’s
in its health care network. Prior to coming to St. Mary’s
she was communications editor for The University of Georgia Institute
of Ecology when she placed a number of stories in the national and
international media and published several articles about various
ecological topics. Such efforts resulted in a cover story in Science
News, an article in Newsweek, and other national publications.
Lorraine has served on the local and
state boards of directors for the American Lung Association of Georgia,
was on several of the organizing committees for the Athens venues
of the 1996 Olympics, and has performed various public relations
services for national and international science organizations. She
is currently a board member of Project Safe, Athens, Ga. Lorraine
has worked extensively with local, regional and national media and
handled a variety of sensitive and crisis communications. In addition
to her marketing and public relations aspects of her company, Lorraine
Communications has developed a unique and innovative product line,
Mealtime Messages® as well as a letter writing service, which
provides personalized and hand written thank you notes in addition
to business letters.
Lorraine’s innovative approach
to internal hospital communications has resulted in a national speaking
engagement to home health care providers, stories in national hospital
industry publications, and a contract with a hospital management
organization that has hospitals throughout Georgia and the United
States. During a test of her program, Mealtime Messages® , which
can guarantee to get a message to every hospital patient who receives
a food tray, the hospital’s patient satisfactions scores increased
substantially and referrals increased to the point that the hospital’s
estimated return on investment when annualized was 4X. Mealtime
Messages® is now pioneering nationally.
Lorraine Communications, Inc. meets
